The annual Dallas Bears Turn-About show will be held on Saturday, October 2nd at 7pm. This year’s location will be the Dallas Eagle. Come and see a night of ‘campy bear drag.’ This will be a night of humor and lots of laughs. This event benefits the charities of TBRU 16.

TBRU 16 Theme and Artwork Announced

The theme for TBRU 16 is “Bears of Justice: Heroes vs. Villains.” This fun theme will certainly allow for some creative events and most likely some costumes. The winning artwork concept was presented by member Tommy A. and the graphics were professionalized by our artist friend in Italy, Gianpolo D. Mark your calendars for TBRU 16 on the 3rd weekend of March 2011.

New Bear Year

The new Dallas Bears Year began in July. Currently members are in the process of renewing their membership and we are welcoming new friends to join our efforts as well. To join, simply come to our membership meeting which is held on the second Saturday of each month at 12 noon. We meet at the Youth First Texas Center located now on Harry Hines Blvd. just on the edge of the Oak Lawn area. Come and join us.

Dallas Bears Gives Over $38,000 to Local Charities

The Dallas Bears recently gave local charities over $38,000 from proceeds of Texas Bear Round-Up 15. Beneficiaries included Youth First Texas, AIDS Interfaith Network and Legacy Founders Cottage and Counseling Center. Additional events of the Dallas Bears including Food Drives, School Supply Drives, etc. make this fiscal year’s donations to the community in the amount of $41,000. Dallas Bears recent celebrated the awesome new of our largest donation in the club’s history.

Dallas Bears held their 17th Annual Membership & Awards Banquet at Celebration Restaurant with more than 80 members and guests attending. The annual event recognizes outstanding members of the organization, the community, and awards proceeds of the Dallas Bears Texas Bear Roundup 15 (TBRU 15), an annual fundraiser benefiting the International Bear and Dallas GLBT communities.

TBRU XV: A Great Success

Thank you to our guests and members for making "TBRU XV - Pantheon: Party with the gods!" a huge success. We had a record number of 1,277 registered attendees. The events and fun seemed to be shared by many.

Our new dinner and activities venue, 300 Club Dallas, was a smashing hit!

We are completing our financials and moving towards knowing what our donations will be to our charities. Keep looking for more announcements soon.

As it happens each year after TBRU our Dallas Bears fiscal year begins to come to an end. Our year closes in June and we renew our memberships and start anew in July. We have lots of things on the hroizon. In May we will complete our Board of Directors nominations, make nominations for the Randy Franklin Memorial "I Care" Award, and announce our June Anniversary Dinner Celebration details. Investiture XXXV

Several members of the Dallas Bears were on-hand to participate in the United Court of the Lone Star Empire Investiture XXXV - Where Green Acres meets Peticoat Junction Saturday night.

Over $33,000 was raised by the outgoing Reign XXXIV for their charities - including some of the present and past Dallas Bears charities.
